We would love to see you in Durham, NC on your way from Charlotte to Hampton. :) 2/11, I believe... We have a great new venue in Durham that sounds incredible and is a good size for intimate show (2700 seats). Planning to see you in Asheville, though.

Very moving story- and i agree children under a certain age should be free. It is a beautiful thing that you make "Dead" tour a family occasion, but if they aren't willing to accomodate then you might have to be willing to sacrafice. Everything changes over time. Phish allows 5 and under in for free- including festivals-but that's not always the case- and you cant count on the goodness of others- though i wish you could.
I sincerely hope they hear your genuine call for a family pass- you not only presented a problem but offered a solution, and that is how you get things done. So good luck- and happy holidays.
Peace To You and Your's-

                                                               December 8, 2009

                                                                     luvflutter_73@yahoo.com

To The Boys,

WE ARE FAMILY!!!

And on that note we stick together. Regardless of the Boys remissions and regroupings, we go where you go. My husband of 9 years and I met at your show in Oakland, at the Henry J. Kaiser, New Year's Eve show 2000-2001. Awesome show! Best day of my life! I have followed you all before and still do these days. We now have 3 children, the next generation to fulfill all your dancing needs.

We stick together! They go where we go. We go where they go. Now the two of us, with our three great children, hit the road to go on tour. It doesn't matter where or when, we do our best to make the show, festival, or event. Since our children have been born, music only grows their cultural environment. And of course, they love to dance! With the innocent mind of a child, a miracle is possible. With that in mind, we hopped on Dead tour '09, only missing Albany & Buffalo, ending in Philly.

Every scene was a dismal belief. In these tough times when money is hard to come by, purchasing 2 tickets for ourselves plus another three for our children, who are 8, 5, & 2, the idea of dropping $500. for one night of music is painful. Especially painful since by second set, they're all asleep in strollers (usually in the handicapped section), we dance beside them and we never even get to go sit in our seats. Our seats, every show, go unused by us.

Deeply saddened, this past spring, we were shut out of EVERY show on the tour. This is the first time ever. We have been, on rare occasions, shut out of A show, but, never a whole tour. What has happened? Kids used to be free up to a certain age. Usually 12 and under.

Whatever happened to extras and miracles? Why are our children being charged full price or even at all?

We home-school our children. As we stated earlier, they go where we go. We go where they go. Once again, we are being shut out. This time it's winter tour. We are being penalized because we have kids.

So we propose this plan to you. A Family Pass. So we can all go. As I sit here crying, I hope you can take this into consideration. As the music has, in the past, changed our lives exponentially for the better, these days, the music is changing our lives, but, not for the better. It makes us sad that, in this day and age, instead of the music being a driving force, it seems that it's the money.

WE ARE FAMILY!!! WE NEED A MIRACLE!!!

                                                                     Always Deadicated,
                                                                     With much love and respect,

                                                                      Rochelle,
                                                                      Alan,
                                                                      Autumn Harvest (8),
                                                                      Spring Moon (5),
                                                                      Jedidiah Winter Jerome (2)

Ending the tour on a Monday night in the PacNW, without any shows in Washington or California? No chance on earth they're not announcing more dates. Any reincarnation of the Dead choosing to skip California during a tour would be like Phish skipping a state that touches the Atlantic ocean; it won't ever happen.
