As they did for their Coventry Festival back in 2004, has set up a radio station for Festival 8 to broadcast the band’s sets and Kevin Shapiro’s “From the Archives” series, among other programming. This time, however, The Bunny also gets a website, a Facebook page, and a Twitter stream.

More importantly, the Bunny has confirmed a rumor that began floating around yesterday that the band will be broadcasting all eight sets from via Sirius/XM radio’s JamOn station. As PhishTwit pointed out, Sirius offers a free seven-day trial membership. You can also stream online over at 95.9 Jack FM (KAJR), but no guarantees on available bandwidth.

Although it’s not quite the full-fledged webcast I attempted to justify in last week’s column (Phish Friday: An Open Letter to Phish and Red Light Management), the audio stream is a very welcome addition for those of us who can’t make it out to Indio for the Festival 8 festivities.

While I won’t be in Indio, Justin will be. He’s already making preparations and getting super excited, so I’m sure we’ll be hearing more from him over the next few days.

while i agree, that this isn’t a full fledged webcast, in some ways i would prefer this, if i weren’t going to the festival. while seeing it visually adds something to the show, i would have much more fun hanging out with my friends listening to this, than everyone crowded around the tv or computer. the movie theater broadcast, would be a different story altogether. last time i did that people were dancing in the theater. management was a little freaked out. everyone had a blast.

I totally would have a small gathering to watch the live feed. I too attended a movie theatre show and was happy w/ the results. I’m happy that PHISH is giving the West Coast some attention given the East Coast received a lot this past summer. Cheers to all that are going! Be safe and take care of your shoes!

    Peace,
    Jay

Thanks – the Sirius signup is working (even from Canada!)

Looks like the web stream for JACK-FM 95.9 (which THE BUNNY took over for the weekend) is still live – hopefully it doesn’t get too popular :)

I was only able to get the Windows Media Player feed working (Via VLC + flip4mac) – not the best sound quality at 56kbps but it’ll do.
