10/9 Update: Phish fall dates announced were just announced.
10/31 Update: NYE in Miami has also been confirmed

Phish @ Red Rocks, 7/30/09

It seems that I’m at about one post a day here on the site and I can’t really see any reason to stopping that, especially now that rumors of a fall tour are starting to pickup. We knew it was a long-shot to call Phish at Big Cypress for NYE, but it looks like it wasn’t too far off considering the rumor that the band will play four nights in Miami for New Year’s Eve. Read on for the dates; I’m told these are close to final and good-to-go on booking early travels plans if you’re so inclined.

i will believe them, when i see them. these dates have literally been floating around PT for months. i doubt they will do big cypress. miami, yeah, but 2 festivals only 2 months apart on opposite coasts? the logistics are mind boggling, and definitely don’t fall in line with the idea that the band has downsized their machine. guess we will have to wait & see. would love a charlottesville show though. atlanta would be even better.

NYE in Miami is locked in. No Big Cypress for NYE. Sorry to be vague, but I work in the festival industry and I’ve known about Miami for a month now. We’ve already started gearing up the machine for it.

The thing that strikes me as strange on these dates is that Thanksgiving is right between two..2 day shows. Doesn’t the Phish family have plans?

  • Fishman’s Frock

phish has played around thanksgiving several times. including the albany/worcester runs . that used to be albany on wednesday, thanksgiving thursday and worcester on friday-saturday-sunday.

with this one, i could easily see the philly shows followed by thanksgiving for band and crew and families spent in the new york/new jersey area before heading up to albany.

if you don’t believe these dates, try finding an Albany hotel room during those dates. I originally had my albany hotel booked for halloween (now moe.) and when I tried to change it to these dates about a month ago, the dude at the hotel just laughed at me. “yeah right man. Seriously?” – he said. “Unless you’re actually with the band, it’s not gonna happen,” – he said. so, I know, at least, that those Albany dates are on lock down for Ph.org cheers.

I hope, I hope, I REALLY hope these dates are right!! My life is not complete without PHISH shows in it. I need MORE :) I am from Ohio so it would be great to only have to drive a few hours vs. 12 to 13 to say Alpine. And just as the guy above said about Albany hotels, Cincy hotels are the same deal… SOLDOUT! Glad I got one early! Does anyone have an idea about when they would announce Fall tour dates? I mean … c’mon already, the suspense is kiling me!

NYE is definitely a go, according to my sources within the Phish family. (Some guy/source who confirmed Indio, Fenway, and Hampton). Cincy for 2 nights is also a done deal, just don’t know when.
