do you think trey relapsed?
is that what the fear of posting is implying?>
i hope not.

Heh meant to be a bit of a pun, that’s all. Like “trey says he hates iphones” — his fans revolt. Etc.
But yeah, I mean — he does kinda seem like he’s fucked up in this video. Sure he’s got energy on stage, but this was a bit frantic. :)
i am close to this subject. and i see a person who looks like they are high on pills but it could just be the energy from the show. natural highs are intense. i hope to god he didn’t relapse. but if he did, it is a lesson for him and i hope he learns from it.

yeah i mean, he’s clearly having fun. i’ve seen him jumping up and down at the shows i saw; he’s clearly found this new energy as a grown man now and i’m sure it’s really firing him up to come out to crazy sold out crowds every night. it’s been a while since any of them have been “used” to that, really.
you make a good point. the energy from the crowd is pretty intoxicating. plus he has been all smiles all tour long!!!
yea!!!
I’ve got a huge grin on my face, after seeing that video. No doubt, Trey’s doing fine, and man is it fun to watch/listen.
His giddyness was totally appropriate in the context of 2 rarely performed, more avante-garde style songs that got a huge crowd reaction. If you’re faulting him for getting off on the crowd energy from that then you really don’t get why Phish has such a dedicated fanbase…
Heh, but I think you may have come around to that point after seeing your other replies… ; )
@ read icculus- mainly i was looking at him and his goofy but happy behavior up there and having been close to the subject of pill addiction with people in my life, it was worrisome at first…but then when as you say look at it in the context of the songs that they were playing, the tour they we’re wrapping up there was more natural reasons for him to be behaving such a way, and that actually brings me happiness…not worry.
i did come around for sure. but i can’t help but have this thought in the back of my mind what happens when he gets off probation? or what if he relapses, and not because i’ll loose Phish possibly, but because it is a probable that it will happen, a relapse, at least if you follow statistics and i really don’t want to see the unhappy sun-glass wearing trey of the first half of the decade. i wanna see the trey i saw this summer. the trey i saw throughout the nineties. that is all…
JOY!
live music blog is on fire with these phish nuggets. justin is the man.
I actually thought it was just a WONDERFUL introduction to the song… Fits very well.
