I was psyched to see MGMT as one of the headliners at the Treasure Island Music Festival, and they’ve been staying busy in the meantime. They just announced the remastered release of the Time to Pretend
EP with a few tracks I’ve never heard before, and they’ve got a decent tour booked up until TI here in October.
MGMT 2009 Tour Dates:
07/16 Pipeline Café – Honolulu, HI
07/21 Auckland, New Zealand – The Powerstation
07/22 Auckland, New Zealand – The Powerstation
07/23 Auckland, New Zealand – The Powerstation
08/02 Jersey City, New Jersey – All Points West Festival
08/05 Boston, MA – Fenway Park
08/06 Boston, MA – Fenway Park
08/15 Hamburg Wilhelmsburg, Germany – Dockville 2009
08/22 Staffordshire, England – V Festival @ Weston Park
08/23 Chelmsford, England – V Festival @ Hylands Park
08/25 Ibiza, Spain – Ibiza Rocks Hotel
08/28 Eriksdal Badet, Stockholm, Sweden – Popaganda Festival
08/30 Paris, France – Rock En Seine // Domaine National de Saint-Cloud
09/02 Tel Aviv, Israel – Bitan 1
09/04 Stradbally, Ireland – Electric Picnic // Stradbally Hall
09/05 Warsaw, Poland – Orange Festival
09/08 Athens, Greece – Electron Festival
09/11 Isle of Wight – Bestival
Add Treasure Island to the list and we’ve got ourselves a pretty large tour to look forward to for this band. I can’t wait to see them after all this time has passed; I originally caught them with Yeasayer back at Schubas in Chicago and I’m pretty sure they’ve had a lot of growth musically since then. Let’s hope they impress me.
