I was in Philly. It was #55ish. Let me tell ya what..that Sand was/is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have laid ears on.
The one thing that I think is sorta lost on folks is that it really started with Tube. Trey actually took a request & you can hear it. it was real gooey. then He says, "well I guess we should (or have to) play this one now and launch into the other Tube. (Last?) anyways it closed out the set funky. so Sand followed in that vein.

I was in the VIP section the whole show, except for Sand coz I was up on the lawn havin a smoke. It was that hot up there too.

They are playing well, but still gettin their legs. there have been some great shows & others where they flub, but there is no better show (lights as a huge part CK5) out there period. & for $49.50???
Listen to the Sand. The Tweezer too. oh & don't forget the 4 song encore.

peace out

I, for one, am simply not willing to judge yet. the band has to figure out new ways to collaborate and i feel that they're playing the songs that likely came out of that....Ocelot doesn't sound like anyone wrote that along....that sounds like Phish to me. Same with Light.

Jury's still out for me, and it's making it a lot more enjoyable to not feel the need to pass judgment.

i attended the two shows at bonnaroo and am about to go to the two alpine shows tonight and tomorrow night. i have been a phish fan for some time now and think the band is back. i personally think that a lot of the new tunes that they are coming out with; time turns elastic, alaska, etc. are far too poppy for phish. i feel like a lot of the tunes are very generic. i do realize that they havent been together for four years and times change .... so im accepting it but i do see a huge change in the way the boys put together songs. a lot of them seem like trey's solo tunes.
