Yeah, so I don't want to sound like a cynic, but well, here goes! A company like live nation doesn't need to "give" anything away. The most popular concerts sell out quickly, and I doubt if any of them will be offered starting on a wednesday. In all likelihood, wednesday is their slowest day and some number crunchers said "it will cost us X dollars in revenue, but we estimate we will get Y amount of media exposure and we will likely generate Z new customers". Anytime the market is eased it is a good thing though, but I wonder how many people will save a significant amount of money besides resellers.

yeah i originally looked at it as at least something, but i'll admit it's still weak and fraught with caveats that don't really help the real music fans in the world. this is all about casual music fans to fill up the lawn.

Thanks to ConcertTickets being on sale worldwide at the exact time ... companies like Live Nation and TicketMaster have made it much easier for scalpers ne "secondary market" profiteers to buy up all he tickets... increasing the likelihood of a sell out and the decreasing the likelihood that you get a ticket on the Saturday that the tickets are released. Plus... they make sure that their own secondary market service get a certain percentage of the tickets so that they can make more money making it even harder for you o get tickets...

Waiving this free is really a pointless exercise :) If ticket companies want to garner some good will, the should start operating as if they have a conscience :D
