For me its not more than just a big joke. At first they say it would be with Plant, then they say it would be without him.

Then sometimes the press wrote Miles Kennedy would sing in there…or maybe…Steven Tyler.

Its no more serious…sorry

Personally, I would rather see Plant without Zep than Zep without Plant.

No offense to Page, Jones, or the late Bonham, but Plant is who I hear when I think of Led Zepplin.

Don’t get me wrong, the group may be great with a different front man, but it wouldn’t be the same.

Led Zeppelin is the young guys in the picture. Plant is right. It would be a joke for a band like Zeppelin to head out and tour again as a serious band.

If they don’t call themselves Led Zep and come up with an album’s worth of original material with whoever the new singer is, it could be musically worthwhile. Sure, throw in a Zep song or two during the set, but don’t rely on those songs.
But if they call themselves Led Zep and play all Led Zep tunes, it will be a farce.
I respect Plant for knowing himself and knowing he isn’t in that same place musically anymore. He could go for the easy $ grab but he knows it wouldn’t be true to where he is as an artist right now.

Let’s face it.
It’s not Led Zeppelin.
I love live music and I am confident that they will implant someone with great vocal talent. Page and Jones would be decent to see…I may go see the band & I may not…in the end they should not call it Led Zepplelin IMO

When I go to a concert it is much like going to the “show” to see a movie. I leave my most expectations in the car. Sure I look up setlists and read some reviews… but really just arrive in hopes of good evening of music. Thats it. It will not be like Led Zeppelin at the Gardens in 1975 that I see on my double DVD… and I know that.

Much like THE WHO concert I saw last week. It was a really good show. It wasn’t like the one I saw in 1988-89 nor like the footage I’ve seen on youtube from the days of smashing instruments, Keith Moon the Loon and hearing Daltrey hit those certain notes… but last week I saw a couple of great tunes I had never heard and saw Pete Townsend turn in a nice guitar solo. I missed seeing The Ox on Bass… but worth the below face value ticket in 9th row I picked up.

Personally I don’t want to see someone halfass it, and I think Plant just kinda thinks that any incarnation of the Zepp these days is sort of a charicature of their original band. I can’t see anything wrong with him not wanting to do something he doesn’t want to do, just because millions of fans want some escapist dream of seeing their favorite band live in an outdoor setting…

I can see both sides, but yeah, I’m not sure I totally fault Plant for not wanting to continue.

I have no problem with these guys touring without Plant. The guy just doesn’t get it. There are millions of fans around the world that have made him extremely wealthy, yet he doesn’t seem to feel any gratitude.
There are so many young fans out there that would love to see and hear the music of Led Zeppelin, actually performed by the guys in Led Zeppelin. but if left up to Plant, they would never get that opportunity. So, let these guys go and have some fun, make some money and treat the younger legions of Zep fans to a show that they never thought they would see and may never forget. Hey Robert, Raising Sand may be a big deal now, but Zeppelin will last forever. Sometimes it’s got to be about the fans. They have given you the world, why can’t you give them one more tour?
