The good thing about Beck live is when he puts certain staged tricks into the shows. I've seen him three times, including Outside lands. The first show had a nice little acoustic set while the rest of the band was pretending to eat and drink at a table and then the band took the kitchen utensils to help out on the last song which I think was Hell Yes. And then about a year ago was the show with the puppets. That having been said, without the gimicks, the music does come off better in the studio.

I have to agree on the studio versus live comments in your review. Understanding that Festival positioning can play into your connection with the band too... but I am just back to Toronto from LA and caught the Hollywood Bowl Show. I've always connected well with Beck's Music. His dad conducted the Philharmonic Orchestra during a handful of songs which was cool to see... but in the end I felt a little empty musically leaving the show. The event of visiting the Hollywood Bowl was great though... as was seeing MGMT and SPOON.

Nice new/fresh look on the site guys!
