Langerado 2009 Dates Announced, Venue Changed

Whenever I think of Langerado I think of the start of the music festival season, and next year’s festival and unofficial start to the ’09 season will be held March 6-8 the week before South by Southwest which means there’s a slight chance I could try to hit both of these festivals. I mean, I should try to be realistic and understand that I’m going to putting a lot of energy into this next year (more on that soon, hopefully!). But still, seems to be upping their game by moving back to a fan-friendly locale in Miami and promising a ton of fresh faces as part of the lineup.

The 2009 edition of Florida’s annual Langerado Music Festival will be held at Bicentennial Park in Miami, marking the event’s fifth venue change since launching seven years ago, according to festival co-producer Ethan Schwartz.

Next year’s Langerado Festival, to be held March 6-8, will feature approximately 60 artists on four stages. A full lineup will be announced in early November. [Billboard]

so many people are complaining about this, the cost will be high, but it should be interesting, as long as they don’t have it here every year. so far markham park has been the best

    langerado has sold us out.

this location could be worstThis move has nothing to due with a 15 mile back up .We did the ride into big cypress it took awhile it was a lot of fun, this move is all about more money for Ethan

Langerado is a festival not a 3 day small Miami park venue with tons of cops

I guess they can make 2 or 3 million dollars more by destroying the vibe of the festival

We all get fucked by Ethan .late night shows were great at big cypress now we must drive to and pay for and leave the park by 11 I’m sure Ethan wont pay you’re DWI bill after you get pulled over.

No camping no vibes, what in the hell is going on greed,

They want to be able to sell more day passes, so they moved it to Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami. There will be no camping. Late night sets will cost extra and will be at other venues on South Beach. The reported ticket price will be between 175-200 for weekend pass. That’s more than last year, that included camping, late night sets and one more day of music. There is also a sound ordinance of 12 to shut everything down in downtown Miami. There is no where to park and where there is, it costs $20. This is a big bullshit move by Ethan.

Please everyone email Ethan and let him know what you think now! ethan.schwartz@southfloridajams.comear. greed and money

Greed and money is why they have done this

This is a letter to whatever “godly” powers that be can possibly reconsider having Langerado in Miami.

    Hi Ethan,
I know you have probably received so many of these emails but I have to send you another one. I have been looking forward to Langerado ever since I left last March!! I have been waiting for for updates and I saw today that Langerado was being moved to Miami??? Why? It was fine at Big Cypress or Markham Park. I missed Langerado’s spirit and atmosphere being in a secluded place with people of like minds. Now it’s moved to Miami where we have to go see bands in bars or clubs? This is a music festival, not a concert. If I wanted to go see bands in bars and clubs for 3 days I would go to SXSW. My outlook for the new year has now been tainted and grime.

I hope you will reconsider your decision.

    Hopelessly,

    Amber

Yea, there are no urban festivals that work…New Orleans Jazzfest totally sucks. Why don’t you all wait to see the lineup and logistics before bitching about having to spend some money. On another note, sleeping in a bed and a shower every night sounds pretty nice at this stage of my life, and quite frankly, a shower a day could do a lot of you some good!
