The Sea and Cake are going out in tour in the fall and they’re playing all the major metros, including a few shows in their stomping grounds of Chicago. I saw them at the Thrill Jockey Anniversary Party back in December and I really enjoyed their set, among many other great bands that night.

I’ll be trying to catch their San Francisco date; these guys are great to see live even if they just play straight-up tracks right from the album. With the instrumental skill in the band I’d really prefer to see them open it up a bit and have some fun, but I know that’s me just asking for something I can’t have. Let the band deliver what they will and I’ll still be happy.
