The schedule for Outside Lands has been posted, and you can customize your own over at JamBase. I’m pleasantly surprised, to be honest, but I’ve already gotten a couple IM’s that people are a bit upset with some of the pairings. Beck or ? Primus vs. Cake? I think I know which way I’m leaning on these…

Regardless of the schedule you try to set for yourself, you always have to show up and be ready to throw caution and planning to the wind anyway. I’m sure we’ll all have fun.

    It’s not so much the pairings, it’s the fact that Beck is well, BECK. He puts on a SHOW. Yet, to get in a ‘spot’ for Radiohead you’ll have to bust out of there a good 30 minutes too soon. The Black Keys are awesome, was excited to see them…Maybe in a few months?

    The Cake set is going to be great for the hardcore fans…EMPTY as can be. Primus, very nice. I’m more concerned with the very short set times. 40 minutes here, 40 minutes there. Still. It’s a bit of a lesser bang for your buck.

    End, whine…

    I feel like after Radiohead on Friday night everything will be in the right place. What else are you excited for on Saturday?

    Saturday is going to be interesting, actually…Tom Petty is really going to rule and I’d recommend the experience to anyone that has never seen him live. He puts on a SHOW, too. A lot of people go in thinking “Free Falling” but he comes out with many of the hits that you didn’t even realize you already know and love (think “Running Down a Dream”). Plus Primus….DUH.

    Everything else is a toss-up. I’m not sure I need to see anything else so hopefully I’ll discover some new stuff that I don’t already know about.

    I guess I should be throwing some sort of pre-party for this. :)

    Definitely check out M Ward. You obviously know his deal becaues of Jim James, I’m sure… It’ll be my first time seeing him live! can’t wait. Been going through a lot of his songs lately..

    They’ve been playing the felice brothers, bon iver and cold war kids on the local indie station here… If you haven’t seen Grace Potter — She rocks it, her guitarist is awesome. Tight band who I discovered at high sierra a few years ago.

    i wouldn’t check out two gallants unless you want to hear a bunch of emo bob dylan wannabes.

    also, after the show, check out earfl.com. people will be recording their experiences at the festival – i think a lot will be very interesting to hear.
