There were definitely a few people at sts9 who had a bit too much... "fun"... but the tribe set was hot. I was dead center third from rail (sucks about Bassnectar's speaker) and yeah it wasn't their best set but they did play right up to the storm, well after they should have packed it in for safety's sake. Moonsockets was weak but One A Day and Abcees were dope. Aimlessly always comes across hot and even tho Lo Swaga is played it still gets the crowd bumpin. The only thing about the set that bothered me was the ending, but it rained hard like five minutes after they left the stage. Im talkin rip tents up and smash multiple windshields rain. Oh well, long as the weather is clear at Re:Gen 08.

Didn't go to the festival, but all Ive heard is that STS9 basically held a stick up. Songs like Lo Swaga, Instantly, & Recently can only be played so much. With soooo many other dope sounds, the list @ Langerado was a joke. I bet a lot of DMB fans thought the set was ill though.

Funny what you say about the Roots - you're pretty much the only person I've heard that was disappointed. First, some of the bands' problems (starting late) weren't their fault; according to ?uestlove, the airline lost their equipment, so they had to run out and rent a shitload of stuff. Langerado is really strict with start/stop times (notice how pretty much every band went on immediately on time?), so they couldn't go longer.

That said, they rocked it. As a long time Roots fan, with at least a dozen shows under my belt, that was one of the better ones (albeit short). The fact that they played "Quills" and "The Realm" (two fairly rare live tracks these days) says a lot. Great stuff.

Also funny that you mention STS9 - they were easily the biggest disappointment of the weekend to me. The set had no energy, the setlist was disappointing, and the crowd didn't move so much as it stumbled and shuffled, mostly because for whatever reason they attracted the worst element at Langerado; the spaced out wooks who took way too many drugs. It was actually really sad to watch.
