I bought VIP passes ...what a JOKE. The had plenty of jumbo shrimp and a couple of really cool covered decks to view the bands from, but oh my some of these bands were downright HORRIBLE. Then, When I went to go to the VIP bathrooms / shower...whalla...NONE. I paid $345 and had to use the public pot-o-pots and 2 showers for thousands of people ...you can imagine. Maybe you can't ...yea they cleaned the shitters the first 3 mornings, but not Monday and the whole thing was that I PAID FOR VIP SERVICES, AND GOT NONE. I counted about 5 couples that were counting on VIP showers/bathrooms who left the next day. The port-o-pots were fine till the drunked hippies woke up around 11am, other than that...what a mess. People were washing openly out of a huge tanker truck with nozzles that you had to hold open. Driking and washing water all in the same boat. I wouldn't care about any of that if the bands were good, but NOT! Warren Haynes selection of talent SUCKED...or whoever did it.

I've played guitar for 20 years, followed Phish, the dead, BB King etc...and love all kinds of music. This show was a total dissapointment. The band O'Death is hands down the worst band I've ever seen. Some of the rest were almost as unlistenable. Scofield was OK the first few minutes but nosedived. I don't care for Govt Mule and their truck-selling guitar songs, and Bob Wier screwed up first song, first lyric...embarassed for him I am. Ratdog did play an awesome version of Two Djin, but the sax player is a freekin drag on that song. I saw a total of maybe 2-3 good jams / songs the whole 3 days except for Spearhead which rocked every song, everyone loved them.

There were HARDCORE DRUGS EVERYWHERE...and even so.. some idiots brought their kids! WTF! People were tripping and mething and X-ing everywhere. Dudes from NYC were outright harassing girls, and just offering to pay them for sex. It was sad ...NOTHING like a dead show or Woodstock. The secutiry guards confiscated everyones umprellas if you tried to bring one in too, DOH! Umbrellas of mass destruction?

Jeff, I was there with VIP passes in 2008 with my friends and we have bought VIP again this year 2009 since it was well worth it. I doubt you had VIP since your totally ignorant. We didn't have to buy any food the whole weekend with VIP, it was a lot more then just Shrimp. The very large lighted bathrooms complete with sinks were behind the covered VIP decks you mention above in the VIP area. You can't see them unless your standing in the VIP area. Someone was always coming around cleaning them as well. You forget to mention all the other perks in the VIP area so I think you peaked from the fence saw the shrimp and made your dumb analysis about what you thought VIP was and convinced yourself it was not worth it. As far as the music we went with a large group of friends and we found it all very good so obviously you had a bad trip there all by yourself. Sorry dude, but your an a-hole and your sucky attitude shows it. - Harald

for the nyc's that read this, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk are playing at Sullivan Hall...with Non-Static!
I think the original line-up changes each time they play. This time around Non-Static is Will Bernard (Stanton Moore Trio, TJ Kirk) on Guitar, Cheme'a Gastelum (Robert Walters 20th Congress, Dap-Kings) on Alto Sax, Matt Williams (Coheed Cambria) on Bass, Adrian Harpham (Leo Nocentelli) on Drums, and Mitch Paone on B3 & Rhodes

Thurs. Feb. 21st. 8:30pm.
