Very cool! Thanks for the feedback. I guess my initial assessment may have been a bit off (RE MTV feel). Good to hear people like the concert offerings. I’m hoping to check this out more often once I switch cable providers…which I hope to do some time soon.

That said, I feel like this channel might get a bit more exposure if they enhance their online presence. Maybe get some more segments on YouTube, or even create a YouTube channel. My sense is that most people just don’t really know that it exists. If I saw a lot more short, high-quality videos on the Internet, I might be more inclined to switch providers or bug my provider about making this addition.

Rob, I also think the webcast style offerings could work well. Sometimes fans just can’t make the show because of cash flow. But those same fans might not balk at checking out the concert on TV for a small fee.

I’ve also enjoyed the Concert.TV section of Comcast on demand. My only gripe, though very small, is that it seems as if it only offers a selection of concerts or documentaries that are being sold at Borders or Barnes N’ Nobles. I sort of get that it’s used as a tool to market these new DVDs, and I think that should remain. I just wish they had more features like “live viewing parties” where you could actually watch a concert happening at that moment. Sort of like ATT Blue Room. I definitely do not get the Mtv vibe at all from it. Also, I think it’s cool that each month they try to work with a theme — January was Jamuary, February celebrated Black History Month, etc.

I’ve recently started exploring the onDemand selections on my comcast (finally those infernal previews while I’m trying to onDemand ‘Entourage’ eps paid off)… So far I’ve been impressed with the selection, but think it would be hard to sit down and “watch” the channel… onDemand needs to find a way to playlist clips so you can watch without having to take a remote control break ever 5-10 minutes… So far I’ve seen Bloc Party (the “God Bless…” DVD is on there) and Coldplay/Richard Ashcroft’s “Bittersweet Symphony” from Live 8… there’s certainly some great content.. Also, I learned that Cingular is now the new AT&T!

Yeah, it’s an on-demand type of thing. I don’t get an MTV vibe at all from it. You only watch what you want, so if you don’t want to watch some Maroon 5 crap, you don’t have to.
