The U.S. version of the Virgin Festival has fleshed out its 2007 lineup after announcing its three major headliners a few weeks back (the Police, the Smashing Pumpkins, and the Beastie Boys). The festival — which takes place August 4-5 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD — has just announced some big additions to its lineup, including some great bands and DJs that really run the gamut of musical genres.
The updated lineup now includes the following artists:

Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals
Booka Shade
Cheap Trick
Chris Cornell

Danny Tenaglia
Deep Dish (Dubfire & Sharam)

Felix Da Housecat
Ficton Plane
Fountains of Wayne
Girl Talk
Incubus
Infected Mushroom
Interpol
James Zabiela
LCD Soundsystem
M.I.A.
Matisyahu
Miguel Migs (Petalpusher)
Modest Mouse
Paolo Nutini
Peter Bjorn and John
Regina Spektor

Shout Out Out Out Out
Smashing Pumpkins
Spoon
The Crystal Method (DJ set)
The Fratellis
The Police
TV on the Radio
Velvet Revolver
Wu Tang Clan
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Is it me or is this lineup really solid? I think we’ve got an impressive Lollapalloza competitor on our hands, don’t you? They’ve really covered everything from indie rock to hip-hop to mainstream rock to all types of electronic music. Very tempting.
Tickets go on sale this Saturday, May 5, at 10 AM (ET) via TicketMaster. Two-day general admission tickets are $175 (or $450 for VIP), and single-day tickets are $97.50 (or $250 for VIP). Also, looks like you can get a free subscription to SPIN Magazine if you purchase your tickets online.

As if The Police, Beastie Boys, & Smashing Pumpkins weren’t enough! 311, Incubus, Ben Harper, Matisyahu, Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Wu Tang, etc..!!! Holy crap.
Not exactly a jam friendly lineup, but this sure packs a wallop. And it’s almost in my backyard!
Yeah — I’m very impressed with this one, also…
I am very excited about this event. At age 48, going to Bonnaroo is unlikely and the last Lollapalooza I saw was the first one, but hti si literally in walking distance from my home, so I can take the teen age daughter and we can all have a blast and no worries about traffic and travel. Woo – hoo. I had taken a stab at predicting the lineup and got a few right – my fantasy show would have been fun too see it on http://www.dadsdcarradio.com
Cheers!

Woh, cool!
I’ve just found a web page that connects this artists through different relationships in order to create a network of as many degrees as you want!

311 :: The String Quartet Tribute to 311 :: The Section Quartet :: The String Quartet Tribute to Incubus :: Incubus
Eh…
There truly are some good acts on this list, but the festy stikes me as a focus-grouped Lollapalooza. The inclusion of Cheap Trick and Velvet Revolver just stink of rock radio populism. And it’s the same price as Lolla for one fewer day.
Long live heady snobbery!
This line up is one of the best I’ve seen in awhile. And though it’s a day shorter than Lolla, the bands are worth the price let alone considering the headliners here.
I wish I lived near Baltimore.
OMG i love Interpol iv been wating for them soooooo long to come to balt. FOREVER!! i will pay all $175 just to see them and ( modest mouse, the police, incubus …… cant wait =D!!
Anyone know what the VIP tickets get you?
this lineup is gay as shit
the only good bands are the headliners and a couple others.
fuck.
I went to the last on and it was amazing this one sounds great too. the VIP tickets get you a spot in th VIP not exactly backstage but its a place along the side of the main stage with food a bar ann Red inflatable Virgin Fest Chairs kinda a nice place if i gets a little crowded and the lines are over populated for food but other then that the money could be used for something else.
Is the $450 VIP pass good for one or two people?
That VIP pass is only 1 person. That would be dirt cheap if it was for 2 people! I mean you get to go into the air conditioned tents, drink free booze, etc..
if anyone is looking to get a single VIP pass for both days, drop me a line, they will only sell them in Pairs…
The VIP does not include free anything..
No free booze of any sort..
Is interpol playing on the main stage ?
How many stages are there?? Thanks for your help!
How many stages are there…and are conflicts common with mid level bands…for example, Interpol and Velvet Revolver, would a conflict of that sort be common. Thanks for your help!
anyone know how traffic was last year? take metro and shuttle buses or drive in?
This festival is a dream come true. Worth every penny. Went and saw Chili Peppers and Mars Volta for $100(front row!)… and this many great bands(Incubus) makes it amazing for $175. Cant wait.
I am looking for a single VIP pass……..
