So Bonnaroo announced a few more artist additions today, including the following:
Ornette Coleman
El-P
David Bromberg and Angel Band
Flight of the Conchords
The New Orleans Klezmer Allstars
Yard Dogs Road Show
In my opinion this is pretty weak sauce, with the big exception of free jazz maestro, Ornette Coleman….that’s wild! He’s liable to freak out even the freakiest freaksters!
Maybe El-P will bring some hip-hop flavor, but beyond that, I don’t really see anything that’s going to get a lot attention here. This announcement seems to add credence to my earlier suggestion that the initial artists lineup wasn’t actually supposed to be so big. Then again, the site also says more artists announcements are on the way over the next few weeks.
What do all you folks think? Am I missing something? Any bigger announcements still on the way?
