The Bays are amazing!
I also have been posting about them on my mp3blog-
www.orchardlounge.blogspot.com and the live in mexico video is cool. The enire Freerange Records that Jimpster aka Jamie Odell runs is always good, very consistent label.

If you like the bays you should check out some of the Orchard Lounge dj mixes and live sets. Everything from chilled out downtempo, robotic midtempo, old school electro, tech house, etc

Oops, one correction: the archive recordings for Psylab are clean, chatter-free (mostly SBD), I was confusing them with another set of recordings, for the moment.

Thanks so much to Mr. WHITperson for hooking us up with this! It's a really nicely done mix, and it is the first I've heard of The Bays. They are indeed fabulous and, as you say, clearly come from the live PA-side, and not from the jam-side of things. This works for me.

That said, I also want to give the jam-origin side a break. I thought the Disco Biscuits, in 1999-2001, were really putting out something new and creative, a sound that was dark and dreamy with a logic and a madness. STS9, already a great talent, morphed into something absolutely their own about 3 years ago. And for a band that, like the Bays, takes the electronica first, I'll again (as in my reply to the wonderful livetronica round-up last week) pitch Psylab (no guitar!). Check out the "Psycast" sessions at http://www.psylabunderground.com/psycast/. Never seen 'em, but looking forward to hearing them grow, and wish the archive.org offerings were better quality.

Again, many thanks for putting this out there, and I'd love to hear more!
