(updated below on 2/27/07)

So Bonnaroo quietly announced two more additions to their initial line-up that was leaked and subsequently confirmed a couple weeks back. The two new additions are:

The Roots
The Wild Magnolia Mardi Gras Indians

Kind of a weak announcement, which may be why we haven’t heard a ton of talk about it. Or perhaps that initial leaked line-up wasn’t supposed to be so long? Anyways, The Roots are kind of an obvious choice, and a solid addition (Gotta have the “hip hop jamband” don’t ya?). The Wild Magnolia Mardi Gras Indians is kind an odd addition compared to most other artisits. My understanding is that these guys do a kind of street-art performance of song and dance in during Mardi Gras and JazzFest (wikipedia’s got some background here).

Ticket info update:
According to Billboard today (2/27), tickets are now sold out at the first few levels, and are only available at the highest price point of $214.50 (although, as of 11:45 AM CT the ticket site had not made this adjustment, I confirmed it by attempting to buy a ticket).

So will it sell out soon? What are your thoughts on future artist additions? You think any headliners are still on the horizon?

Man, is it me or are these big festivals getting really pricey?

you know, I’d really like to see Jerry and Elvis rocking it with Bob Marley and Tupac while Jesus pisses champagne on virgins. Aint gonna happen. Good thing I am cool with just going to see the sweet bands already lined up!!!

ORNETTE COLEMAN!!!!! That is going to be awesome…and most likely the last chance many people will get to see such an influential Jazz musician of his caliber. Also, I’m glad to see El-P for some of that hip hop I was talking about.

I wouldnt mind a couple more big name DJs…PVD, Tiesto, Above and Beyond…in addition to particle, disco biscuits, umphreys, and some more electronica/psychedelic music like Thievery Corporation, built to spill, or even M83. I think these semi-reasonable additions would round the festival nicely.

I went to this fest in 05 and I have my ticket for this year but im dissapointed in the absence of Dave Matthews from this and last year in my oppinion there the best band to haved graced the Bonnaroo stage. I’m stooked for the Police and also The White Stripes. Tool will be sweet as well
