How was this done you ask? From BonnarooDetective on the Inforoo boards…
Last night when the bonnaroo website started acting up I knew they must be in the process of updating the website for the artist announcement, so I tried a few different URLs to see if anything worked . . . when I typed in www.bonnaroo.com/artists, a clearly unfinished website came up. I’ve been checking it every hour waiting for an update and about twenty minutes ago it came . . .
http://www.bonnaroo.com/festivals/2007;lineup
Nice find Justin!
So no Pearl Jam?
The Black Keys will be awesome!
I hope that is wrong.. SO freakin Bad, because if its not you can clearly see MTV got their grimey little hands on the show!
You have just made my day!! I love it and can’t wait for June. Thanks for searching. I couldn’t wait another day without knowing. That’s how I found you. THANK YOU!!! Great job!!!
hmm… no umphreys or moe?
I think it is a pretty good lineup however no MMJ may mean that I personally don’t go. Also it is Charlie Louvin not Louven.
http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2007/02/13/bonnaroo-lineup-leaked-hipsters-and-hippies-rejoice/
UMM OK… if this is bogus i will be pissed off.
Tool at roo would be the greatest thing ever.
I didn’t think anything would top radiohead at roo, and now I think we might at least have a tie!!
Umphrey’s is always a 2nd round addition btw! And yes, they will be there. There’s no bonnaroo without umphreys!
Woulda liked to see MMW, Trey, MMJ, and possibly some Phil and Friends.
Who knows…if i get some cash together, it’d still be a great show.
Are you all insane. Complaining about who is and who is not on that list. do you not see Bob Weir, WSP, and STRING CHEESE INCIDENT!!!!
Any additional cheese shows should be considered a must see!
Kinda bummed out… I’m not going to lie… but I’ll still be there I guess. Then again i was kinda bummed out this time last year… I wonder if there could be any little additions or changes that take place over the course of today… like maybe some Trey, or atleast make that Dylan rumor be true…. I just don’t know about Tool… I guess atleast Widespread will be there.
bummed out. didn’t want tool there at all, mainly cause who knows what kinda crowd that will draw.
I’m kind of disappointed as well. I would of liked to see Bob Dylan instead of Tool as well as some better choices among the mid-sized bands.
And although T bone burnett did produce a few DMB albums… what the hell kinda music does this guy make… a little more bluegrass would be nice too… with only Old crow and ralph stanley… leaves me wanting more. I’ll hope for the artist additions… or that this all is a biggg joke.
The Police and The White Stripes is good.
But the rest? Been there done that with any festival last year, with the exception of maybe The String Cheese Incident.
Eh, that line up isn’t enough to battle heat exhaustion.
I’ll fight for Police tix on ticketmaster.com
Why is everybody having such a frigging problem with this? I think it’s a fantastic lineup, and I will be there - just as I was last year. It’s clear that the past couple years Superfly has been straying from the original crop of Jam-Banders (which mind you, I adore) but still, just as last summer - there’s stuff for everyone. Everything from rock and roll to bluegrass, hip-hop, trance, prog rock (Tool is certainly an odd choice, but considering the reputation of their live act - I will be happy to see them), and of course the old stand by of Jam bands (Panic AND String Cheese? Goddamn…). Plus add in all the other terrific acts - Wilco, THE FLAMING LIPS, Ben Harper, Ween… THE WHITE STRIPES! It’s absolutely mind-numbingly awesome. Mind all you nit wits that this is also the PRELIMINARY lineup, with more stuff to come. It’s the finest lineup this festival season in my opinion, bitch about it all you like… I’ll be there seeing amazing performances by amazing acts and loving every second. Peace.
rx bandits? aren’t they on a label with like allister, finch, and shit like that?
Yeah sadly I think I will have to skip this one, nothing here really makes me want to put in the effort like Radiohead, Beck, Buddy Guy, etc did last year.
All I ask for is some damn Bisco. Not so happy about the Police headliner and the lame-ass midage yuppies its gonna drag to such a wonderful place. White Stripes is pretty unnecessary too, I must add- I thought the world was over them a while back. Tool is gonna be sweet, and Bob Dylan isn’t nearly the artist he used to be. I’ve seen two of his shows recently, and it’s just not that great. And FUCKING Clutch?! Hell yes. What an awesome band, and I’m so glad they’re playing this festival. I recommend checking them out as soon as possible, they jam their shit out.
Nonetheless STS9, Panic, Tool, White Stripes, WILCOOOOOOOOOOOO, and Ben Harper will be fucckkkuunnnn illlll
“I hope that is wrong.. SO freakin Bad, because if its not you can clearly see MTV got their grimey little hands on the show!”
Yup, it’s that time of year again, cue the MTV/ClearChannel takeover rumors ;)
This is a fantasticly diverse lineup. Aesop Rock, DJ Shadow, Gilr Talk, Old Crow, Wilco, Flaming Lips, STS9, String Cheese, Manu Chao. These are by no means all of the stand out bands. I’m just trying to show how Superfly got their shit together this year by creating a festival pulling great bands from all the different colors of the spectum. I was really skeptical this year. How could they top Radiohead? Would it be more jamband based, or take the pitchfork route? Basically, Bonnaroo simply a great collection of musical acts from all walks of life and taste. SUPERFLY!! I HAVE FAITH IN YOU AGAIN!
badass except for the white stripes, what is that all about?
“bummed out. didn’t want tool there at all, mainly cause who knows what kinda crowd that will draw.”
have you ever listened to tool? they put together incredible albums, and somehow i think their crowd isnt who you should worry about. the panic crowd on the other hand…
Stop bitching about tool fans. Do you think there gonna pay 250$ to see tool live when they are in the middle of a nationwide tour. people are dumasses
Police, Tool, Panic, Ween, Wolfmother, STS9, Tortoise, Clutch! How can people bitch about that lineup? It’s a complete joke that Fountains of Wayne are playing, and no UM or Moe, but TOOL?!! oh. my. god.
10000 Lakes seems to be the more jam friendly fest…fewer band overlaps…
no way you’ll ever get to see all these bands…Broo tempts you with the full list - but good luck seeing them all.
Yay!!! The percentage of silly hippies at ‘ROO just dropped! Thanks TOOL, Clutch and Wolfmother! I think TOOL fans for the most part are pretty docile people. Its not like they’re Pantera or Mudvayne. With the art-metal sound that they have I think they’re a perfect choice. The Mars Volta are heavier than TOOL and they didn’t draw an uncool crowd.
man last year was the shit and I can’t even wait for this year, just because tool isn’t the
the regular jam band doesn’t man they don’t know how to jam. I just hope that WSP is on the last day, aint no better way to go out than to go out big.
i don’t see why people are focusing on who’s not there (umphrey’s, MMJ, etc.)
sure, i would have loved to see trey, phish, the dead, oysterhead, les, primus, rhythm devils, phil lesh, allman brothers, DMB, or a ton of other acts that were rumored to be playing and had a very high likelihood of playing.
but that doesn’t take away from teh fact that this is still an awesome lineup.
so stuart copeland and tool are headliners…is the third headliner wsp or the white stripes?
anyone who is complaining needs to stfu. widespread, ben harper, wilco, string cheese, gov’t mule, wolfmother, keller williams, ocms, nma, damien rice, the black keys, keller williams, paolo nutini, tea leaf green, hot tuna and spoon???? all those bands will effectively rock my socks off. this is one of the best years so to all who complain: stop or don’t go, because it will be all the better for me
NO TOM WAITS!!!….bummer…However, TOOL lifted my spirits again…That’s gonna be intense…And my prediction is that Trey Anastasio will sit in because he recently said in Rolling Stone that TOOL is his favorite band…..Maynard and Trey exchanging their genius live, on stage…Can only result in a musical work of art.
Yeah I really dont see how you could possibly complain about this lineup. This is one of the most awesome collection of bands coming together Ive ever seen. Who knows what will come with the future artist announcements, if any.
All I know is, nighttime Galactic and STS9 this year would be amazing!
If this lineup is accurate, I’m freakin glad I got the early bird tix! Ben Harper, Sting, Stuart Copeland, Bob Weir, Ziggy Marley, and MAYNARD!!!!!! So much musical talent, and songwriting genius! I can’t wait!
And another thing. They’re are surely more bands to come. Oysterhead was the third wave of bands that were announced. So just calm down people.
OMG- I can’t believe that they didn’t have TP back this yur. And why the fuck didn’t they get Mavis Staples this year either!?! I’m thinking of boycotting… Oh, Mavis Staples IS there? It still doesn’t matter because I don’t like RSCMB (Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys for you amatuers), T, RRE , MS, or Cooler Fuck. These stupid Bonnaroo people obviously didn’t make this concert for me, so I’m not going! They should’ve invited K (Kiss), JH, DMB, FU, and HTTP. Anyone with me?
You guys are ridiculous. They can’t possibly invite everyone on your Ipod. This is a solid lineup, so shutup and buy your tickets.

Awesome lineup…I’ve been going for years just to see the great up and coming acts, who may not be around long these days because of the f**ked up music industry. There are some killer new artists on that list. For you old timers, or anyone who wants to see pure balls-out guitar playing, check out the Richard Thompson band. One of the great guitar players of all time.
Anyone against Tool at Roo, go to http://www.toolband.com/chat/index.html
@ 5 pm.. This is a Band Chat… The Band and their fans are there. Tell’m your a fan or tell them not to come…. Give me BOB DYLAN or DOC WATSON OR ANYBODY BUT TOOL
Well Ryan Irish that shows how grown up you are now doesn’t it?
Is bonnaroo owned by viacom or not?
I’m really glad that david cross is going to be there…Tobias Funke at bonnaroo, thats great.
Hey Joshua,
Sweet Statement you must be a toolbox eh?
What happened to Ozomatli???
no radiohead?
fuck this.
This concert lineup is the best thang that i’ve heard since Sue Johansan Invented sex.
I think i just came and shitted a little bit
they need to add moe., jurrasic 5, Bisco, rjd2,
robert randolph, muse, built to spill, tv on the radio, and common
JACK JOHNSON IS A MUST PLEASE DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO GET HIM. HE WOULD BE A GREAT FOLLOW-UP FOR TOOL
I’m not going to go on and on about who is playing and who is not playing this year, or if it will measure up to the years past. I went to the first two ‘Roos’ and, short of seeing a reunion of dead rock stars past(maybe validated by their DNA), nothing will surpass the epic 7+ hour show that moe. put on during the first bonnaroo, a feat that would later earn them a nomination and win for best live show of the year at the Jammy’s. No, what I am concerned about is the planning of who plays when and where. This, for me, has always been the most difficult decision to make. See, I don’t worry about the bands that didn’t make the cut, they’ve already played in years past, or they’ll play next year or the year after that. I have to worry about things like, “Who do I choose to see on Friday night??” There are just so many choices it calls for a Sierra Nevada or ten, even at 8:00AM [:~)

FINALLY, a reason to skip Vegoose and go to Bonnaroo! I’ve never seen such an interesting (and diverse) lineup. It might actually be worth all the mud and body odor.
TOOL haters stay home!
(I’ve never heard so much close-mindedness out of hippies!)Those of you on the fence, just wait for the show…they are absolutely INSANE live. Maynard is a theatrical genius on stage.
They should be a nice contrast to the usual lineup. Not that I don’t like jam bands, but sometimes you need a fresh perspective. It’s been the same type of bands for the last few years without MUCH diversity. Nice, but boring. This year’s lineup has something for everyone.
Besides that, the POLICE??!! They may have been our parents generation, but they’re still a keeper! (Don’t worry, all the big bad TOOL fans will scare those middle-aged yuppies away :)
Peace!
Mars Volta heavier than Tool? LMAO…Can’t wait for the Roo…I went to the first (best one) and the second (best lineup) and can’t wait for this one. Too bad Panic got a headliner spot, would have like to see Phil and Friends..I hope they put Panic on Friday or Saturday so I can get a nap in before the late shows…I guess there is an upside
This is a fantastic show! Stripes, Harper, Franti, Manu Chao, Richard Thompson is a guitar god! I am coming from Newfoundland Canada! Diversity rules - how about Toots and the Maytals, Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam…
id really like to see more hip-hop acts specifically mos def and talib kweli
Not sure if you’ve heard, but the newest 99% confirmed rumour is Tom Waits. You’ll see . . .
fuck yeah flaming lips and sts9
How can a large number of people be down on the Tool addition to Bonnaroo? I’ve seen Tool countless times and really only picked Bonnaroo to see Tool in a festival setting with the addition of David Cross of course.
It seems people think a Tool crowd equals rowdy fans. Tool shows are usually just a lot of people in a trance with their mouths dropped to the floor because they cannot comprehend what there eyes and ears are experiencing. Tool is hands down one of the greatest bands to see live.
Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here.
Thats all I have to say to those who think tool shouldn’t be at the venue
don’t you folks realaize mtv bought into bonnaroo?
is it really that surprising?
if you don’t want to come, don’t. if you do, sweet– if the haters stay away, and then maybe those of us who are STOKED about the show can have a good time while the rest of you sit at home blogging about your superior music tastes and inability to accept new experiences into your safe little bubble.
i can’t wait for the show– lips & ween here I come!!
i think u guys forgot to put the shins up there:( they where there last month
I think its a good mix for everyone: The hippies got their bands like WSP, string cheese and Keller Williams. The hippie haters got Ween. The metalheads/12 year old suburbanites got their TOOL. The yuppies got their Police. If it’s all about togetherness, then this is a good lineup. Also, can’t wait for Hot Chip.
MTV has not bought Bonnaroo and they never will be able to. Just because they do a 10minute blip there every year doesn’t mean that hey have anything to do with the shareholders. Such a large and diverse festival with headliners is bound to draw attention from MTV.
This year’s line-up is awesome!!! Can’t wait
Here’s a great blog I found
http://kbco.com/pages/keefer.html
Hmm.Great mix for everyone.
THx.
