Shit I lied... This is useful for my site but I'm trying to import into GCal, not export from it. I think it would have to be a Google API hack of some sort to get it to work.

The thing that really bugs me is that I can't load feeds into Google Calendar. Example, my JamBase calendar feed, or perhaps an RSS from Tea Leaf Green's site that will automatically publish dates on the calendar. Ugh, it's been on my mind recently...

Good point, Ross -- totally agreed. The first thing I did when I saw that they updated to full feeds was email Andy and give him an enthusiastic "about time!"

And then immediately I gripe on a site that still hasn't made the proper switch. I guess I'm just an ass like that...

Yeah JamBase was also one of the WORST offenders for the longest time - their RSS feed would often have nothing more than the article title and a link. Huge kudos to them for the new/fixed feed.

Some of the bigger tech sites are starting to offer 'ad-sponsored' versions of their feeds - the feed that has full articles also has ads. The feeds that are just partial content have no ads.

I'm so glad you mentioned this... I thought maybe it was just my RSS reader that was messing up the Pitchfork RSS. I've come so close to just emailing them to complain about it.

RSS has changed my life, or at least the way I get my news & information!!

This is a GREAT post. I own and run an Internet-based music marketing company and we see the benefits of an RSS enabled site versus one that isn't or isn't using it effectively. Often we run contests and you realize quickly how much higher visibility you can get when you are pushing full, useful, interesting content right to the reader that is asking for it..

I am sure sites will get smarter as time goes on and the info is presented to them in a way where they see benefit. We're trying to do our part in that!
