The nominees on the ballot for the 2007 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been set…

R.E.M., Van Halen, the Stooges and Patti Smith are among the nine acts on the ballot for the 2007 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, to be held March 12 at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Also on the ballot are the Dave Clark Five, Chic, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Joe Tex and the Ronettes.

    If Madonna is there I cannot figure out why Pat Benatar or even Heart are not nominated, I mean I think even Bonnie Raitt is in the Hall of Fame and who thinks she should be there before Pat Benatar? I know someone mentioned the Moody Blues I agree they should be in there too! And regardless of what anyone thinks of Cat Stevens I think he should be there if for no other reason he is a great song writer!

    I know who I forgot to mention Peter Frampton has he been considered? I mean the Pretenders are there Chic are there but no Frampton I will never understand it. I am not a fan of Rap but doesnt everone think that the “Sugar Hill Gang” should have been the first Rap band nominated? I thought they were the first Rap group. So many thinks I don’t understand like ok I get it Chic is there because they were from the “Disco ” era, but wouldnt KC and the Sunshine Band or Donna Summers be a better choice?
