You thought I was lying when I said Beck’s background dancer was annoying and distracting, but I wasn’t.

My sister loves O.A.R. so I’m definitely more easily persuaded to post this info. I’m not a huge fan, but that’s still no reason not to enjoy streaming an album before it’s released to the public. I love that. Do it!

From LMB friend Staci…

Kicking off September 27th Exclusively on mtvU.com you can stream the brand new O.A.R. album for a full week before it hits the stores! mtvU’s Leak of “Stories of a Stranger” allows you to be the first to hear the album in its entirety, before you can buy it!

You can also catch a sneak preview of the band’s live “Unveil” performances of their new songs on mtvU.com all week long. Check out mtvU.com until Tuesday to watch a different song each day, every day until release! Then on October3rdyou can see the world premiere of “mtvU Unveil:O.A.R” with live performances starting noon (EST). When I see dates announced by the Disco Biscuits, it ALWAYS seems to be something on the East coast that I can never attend. Well, usually. In this situation, it’s okay. The Disco Biscuits have announced a two-night run in Atlantic City as a new drummer showcase of some sorts. They’re calling it a drum off, and it’ll feature the best and most talented drummers up for Sammy’s job (which has been completely relinquished as of this date). This would be awesome to see. How does the crowd react? What songs are the guys featuring as “try out” tunes?

The Disco Biscuits are excited to announce a very special two night run at the Music Box Theatre in the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, NJ on November 18 and 19. This unique engagement will feature some of your favorite drummers, and some of the best, raw, undiscovered talent that this country has to offer, including the top prospects for the open seat behind the drums.

Where are they?

Thanks to the great roundup by Ace and the unbelievably great stream that’s being hosted by Nugs.net, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be listening to this tribute show. Full setlist and words below, and click here to stream the entire show. Thankfully, Nugs.net also offers streaming track-by-track. You’ve gotta love Nugs.net. The guy’s a friggin’ genius.

Enjoy!

Listening to…

in News

The White Stripes live on NPR’s webcast. This is cool.

You should listen to it. Now.

Oh, and by the way, why didn’t anyone of you tell me that NPR.org is kicking some serious ass with their ongoing live concert series? The Secret Machines? Sigur Ros? This is good stuff. Check this out. They’re even podcasting, baby!

I’ve been slacking hard on the Vegoose news lately. I guess it’s because I’ve realized I’m not going, and it’s hard to be totally interested in Bonnaroo West Vegoose when I know it’s going to be hard to make it everything that it was hyped up to be. At any rate, the Widespread Panic show is probably going to rage.

I’m still looking for a willing individual to take over the Live Music Blog reigns at Vegoose and give our sorry asses some representation. Anyone going that wants to write some reviews for us? Anyone want to call me while hungover and try to remember what the hell they even saw last night? We want you!
