Herbert Wiser Band :: January 29, 2005
Red Barn :: Peoria, IL
I have to say that I was unbelievably pleased with our performance last night at the Red Barn. I thought that the turnout was less than expected, but all the better to get more people out to our show at The Mutiny in Chicago on Friday, February 11.
More to come once I can remember how I actually sounded…
Yes it is true, we do have guest bloggers!! And I guess I’ll be the first one to speak up. Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a fantastic Sam Bush & Ekoostik Hookah concert in Columbus, Ohio. After traveling from Cleveland through that huge snowstorm that rocked the Northeast, I was ready for some serious music, and was by no means disappointed.

See you there, bitches.
I’ve always wondered why magazines did this. When you’re trying to attract new readers, especially music fans, I see this new Relix issue as a bad idea all across the board.
If I see Gov’t Mule on the cover with text strewn about mentioning every other Southern jamband together right now, I’m thinking that I’m about to read a magazine that only covers that. To me, I’m not totally into that style of music right now, so the magazine is just pigeonholing themselves. If that’s even a word. [edit: Yes, it is a word. Click here.]
Here at the live music blog, we don’t worry about actually writing using actual words.
I’ve added some authors that should start posting their hearts out very shortly. I welcome anyone and everyone for the moment. I think this blog needs some action, and some new fresh energy is the way to bring it.
P.S. I’ve drafting up plans for some sweet changes to the blog; stay tuned for more previews.
Sorry to all my faithful readers that have been coming back everyday expecting updates and not finding them.
I really have been busy in real life, and I have had much less time to devote to this blog as time’s gone along. I’m still hoping on getting some guest bloggers on here to weigh in on the jamband scene and all that it holds with it. Keep with us in the construction phases while I put in the necessary infrastructure to handle such an awesome blog as the live music blog.
Well, Bonnaroo has again trumped most other music festivals solely on their lineup. This begs the question of how well this festival can continue to put 90,000 people in a field and hope that the weather doesn’t completely kill the vibe. The artists there are sweet though, with Widespread Panic playing two shows, Dave Matthews Band signing on his whole band (hell, 80,000 people could be there just for that), Keller Williams, STS9, etc. etc.
All in all, this should easily be a good time if the weather’s good (as every outdoor camping / party trip would be). Check out the lineup by reading on…
